Dr Ian has worked with many women trying to achieve pregnancy. East Asian Medicine tells us that it is the male and female Jing essence which combine to form a new life. Often both prospective father and mother work with us. We work to ensure the mother's cycle is regular and complication free and she is as healthy as possible. Some couples choose East Asian Medicine as well as continuing with IVF and other fertility treatments. We tailor the experience to suit each couple's circumstances.

Womens' Health
Dr Ian is passionate in his belief that women should not have to experience painful, irregular or heavy cycles. Over the years, he has worked with women with endometriosis, fibroids, heavy bleeding and other menstruation related issues. East Asian Medicine believes that many of these conditions are caused by internal cold and stagnation. Acupuncture and herbs are used to increase flow of Qi to counter this.
Pain
East Asian Medicine believes pain is a sign of lack of Qi flow in the affected area. If the flow of Qi can be restored pain will subside and repair and healing begin. Both Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine can be used to improve Qi flow. Additionally we may provide you with a print copy of a set of rehabilitation exercises designed specifically for you.
Cancer
Whist East Asian Medicine is not recommended as the primary treatment modality for cancer, there is some evidence it can assist with chemotherapy and radiation therapy related side effects and work well alongside Western medicine. Cancer patients should speak to their Western Doctors with a view to taking a team approach to care.
Headache
Acupuncture may be effective as a pain relief technique for headaches. We use a number of acupuncture points depending on the nature & location of your headaches. Sufferers of chronic headaches often find their symptoms will lessen.
Anxiety & Depression
From an East Asian Medicine perspective, anxiety and depression are caused by a disruption of Qi energy. This disruption may be caused by internal or external factors. Once Qi flows freely it can promote the proper health of body, mind and spirit.
Digestive Issues
Acupuncture has been shown to help alleviate the symptoms of a variety of digestive issues.
